Study Objectives

The Post-Psychedelic Challenges Study aims to answer the following questions:

  • What kinds of challenges and adverse effects can occur as a result of classic psychedelic use?

  • Are there specific psychedelics, approaches, or contexts that tend to cause more problems than others?

  • What predicts improvement, worsening, or growth after psychedelic-related challenges?

  • If someone experiences difficulties after taking psychedelics, what should they do? What kinds of support, or therapy, are helpful?

About Us

Our research is focused on understanding the difficulties and adverse effects that can occur after taking a psychedelic. We are interested in learning what helps people recover, and what can make these challenges more difficult. We are also interested in learning what might predict whether psychedelics have a therapeutic or destabilizing effect.
